It doesn’t get any easier than this Mississippi pot roast, it’s a hands-off meal that’s perfect for fall.
Pork is a relatively inexpensive meat and becomes tender and flavourful when slow-cooked.
This recipe is hearty and filling and is a good option when looking for cheap easy fall meals. It’s also a great meal to batch cook and use for multiple meals which helps you stretch your grocery budget.
2. Sausages & Mash
Sausages and mash is a classic comfort meal that’s perfect for chilly fall evenings. The combination of tasty sausages and creamy mash is simple but so satisfying. You really can’t go wrong with this easy fall dinner.
I usually use pork or chicken sausages since they’re more affordable and I mix in a bit of milk and butter with the potatoes to make them stretch. Pour some rich onion gravy on top to elevate the dish.

Tomato soup paired with a cheese toastie is a simple cozy meal that is cheap and delicious. This was one of my favourite meals when I was a kid and I still love it as an adult.
Use canned or homemade tomato soup, both are affordable and can be enhanced with herbs or a splash of cream. I usually use the Heinz creamy tomato soup.
Make the cheese toastie with whichever bread you have at home. If you have any pesto add a thin layer to your bread before the cheese. Trust me it will take your simple cheese toastie to another level.
4. Meatballs & Pasta Bake
This meatballs and pasta bake is one of the most comforting cheap easy fall meals. It’s packed with flavour and easy on your wallet so you can’t go wrong.
The recipe uses store-bought meatballs but you can make them yourself if you prefer. Also, feel free to add some extra seasonings, I like to add some garlic and mixed herbs.
5. Caribbean Chicken Curry

I’m from the Islands so Caribbean chicken curry is always in my rotation of cheap easy fall meals. It’s a versatile recipe that can be adjusted based on what you have in your pantry which makes it a great budget-friendly option.

6. Shepherds Pie
Shepherd’s pie is a classic dish that’s both hearty and cost-effective.
Simply cook some minced meat – beef is a great budget-friendly option and add any veggies you have in the fridge. Frozen veggies are a great cheap option, I always keep some in the freezer to easily add to meals.
Pour your mince into a baking dish, add a layer of creamy mashed potatoes, top it with cheese then bake it in the oven for 30 minutes.

Lamb curry is one of my favourite fall comfort foods. I can eat it any time of the year to be honest lol but it tastes even better during the colder months.
Lamb can be expensive but you can save money by using cheaper cuts like lamb shoulder or kneck. Whichever cut you use will taste amazing when slow-cooked in a spiced curry sauce.
Serve it with some rice or naan bread for a tasty filling meal. I usually have mine with some rice, veggies and tzatziki.

Creamy harissa chicken pasta is one of my new favourite cheap dinners. I recently had it at a restaurant and I loved it so much I had to find a recipe to make at home.
Use chicken thighs and whichever pasta you have at home to save money. Don’t forget to add some pasta water to make your dish rich and creamy.

Homemade lasagna is a classic hearty meal that’s super affordable to make. It’s another one of my favourite cheap easy fall meals.
Cook some minced beef or pork on the stove, then stir in a can of chopped tomatoes and seasonings of your choice. Throw in some frozen veggies, spinach or zucchini to make it more nutritious and budget-friendly.
Add the mince to a baking dish, layer some lasagna sheets, add white sauce then top it with cheese and bake for 30 minutes.
